The Batela Story

Batela was founded in Spain in 1991, born from a single yellow sailor's raincoat. That first design set the tone for everything that followed — clothing and homeware inspired by the sea, made to last, and made for the whole family.

Over more than three decades, Batela grew into one of Spain's best-known names in nautical fashion. Its striped t-shirts, faithful to the traditional Breton cut, became a signature piece — worked in quality cotton for a soft, long-wearing finish. Its sailor-style sweaters, knitted in both classic stripes and plain colours, brought Atlantic style into everyday wardrobes. And its raincoats — still at the heart of the brand — evolved from that first yellow design into a full range of colours and styles, without losing the attention to detail that made them stand out in the first place.

Alongside the clothing, Batela built a home and decor collection that carries the same maritime spirit indoors - from tableware and lighting to decorative pieces inspired by the sea, boats, and coastal life. It's a brand built on a simple idea: classic nautical style, done properly, for every member of the family.
